Ingredients
600 gcarrots
40 gbutter
1 pincéesalt
1 pincéepepper
10 gfresh parsley
Instructions
1PREPARE THE CARROTS: Rinse the carrots under cold running water with a soft brush to remove any dirt. Peel them thinly with a vegetable peeler using steady strokes from top to bottom. Cut them into regular batons approximately 7 to 8 centimeters long and 8 millimeters thick to ensure even cooking. Set aside in a bowl.
2FILL THE STEAMER BASKET: Pour approximately 500 milliliters of water into the bottom of your pot or pressure cooker equipped with a steamer basket. The water should not touch the basket. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat until you see the first wisps of steam escaping from the basket.
3STEAM THE CARROTS: Arrange the carrot batons in the steamer basket in an even layer. Cover with the appropriate lid and cook for 10 to 12 minutes depending on the thickness of your carrots. Check for doneness by piercing a carrot with a sharp knife: it should be tender but still slightly crisp, maintaining its structure.
4FINISH WITH BUTTER: Transfer the cooked carrots to a serving bowl or directly to your serving dish. Add the butter cut into pieces and gently toss with a wooden spoon to incorporate it as it melts. The butter will coat the carrots with an appetizing shine.
5SEASON AND SERVE: Season with salt and pepper to your taste. Generously sprinkle with finely chopped fresh parsley to add a touch of freshness and color. Serve immediately while the carrots are hot and the butter is creamy and melting.
