1PREPARE THE TOPPINGS: Peel the onion and cut it finely into rings or dice according to your preference. Slice the pickles thinly on the bias for an elegant presentation. Pour the mustard and ketchup into two separate small bowls. You can prepare all of this in advance to save time during final assembly.
2COOK THE SAUSAGES: Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Gently place the sausages in and let them cook for 8 to 10 minutes until they are heated through and slightly swollen. Alternatively, you can pan-fry them in a skillet with a drizzle of oil for 5 minutes to achieve a golden crust with more savory flavor.
